We attended the premiere of "Saben Aquell...", the movie about Eugenio.

The ÉxitoTV team attended the exclusive premiere of the film “Saben Aquell…”, a work that immerses us in the early artistic years of the legendary Spanish comedian, Eugenio. This event, full of emotion and anticipation, allowed us to delve into the world and legacy of one of the great icons of humor in Spain.

Eugenio Jofra, known simply as Eugenio, was a master of comic monologue whose genius and unmistakable style made him an emblematic figure of Spanish comedy. His everyday stories, told with intelligent and agile humor, won the hearts of millions of viewers and left an indelible mark on the history of entertainment.

At the premiere, we were able to talk to some of the talents behind this production: David Verdaguer, the actor who brings the character of Eugenio to life with mastery, shared with us his experience and the challenges of portraying an icon of humor. David Trueba, the film’s director, offered us a unique insight into the creative process and the importance of bringing Eugenio’s story to the big screen. Carolina Yuste, in the role of Conchita (Eugenio’s first wife), provided us with an intimate perspective on the relationship between the characters. On the other hand, it is worth noting the significant contribution of Gerard Jofra to the film, an artist and son of the comedian, who has helped the film’s team delve into the personal and professional life of his father, as the film is based on the book written by Gerard himself. At the premiere, we saw many familiar faces from the city of Barcelona who mostly recognized the importance that Eugenio had had in their lives.

“Saben Aquell…” has been deservedly recognized with multiple awards, highlighting its 7 Gaudí Awards, including best actor, best actress, production design, art direction, best costume design, best sound, best makeup and hairdressing, as well as the prestigious Goya Award for best actor. These awards are a testament to the work done by the entire team involved in this production.
